We regularly restyle vintage and family owned wedding dresses. It is always a pleasure to be involved in this very special process. We advise brides in how they can update, restyle, revamp, and restore these often very individual dresses and make their chosen bridal garment work for them.

How would you like to see yourself as a bride? It is about making a dress your own by adding your very personal touch. As much as you might admire the style and taste of your mum, as a bride it is important to leave your very individual legacy. You might like to update, restyle and add some individual features, especially should you decide to wear a family inherited wedding dress. We have a small but beautiful collection of accessorise and can make anything bespoke. For one of our recent brides we have tailored a stunning red velvet cape to complete her Charlie Brear look. 

Vintage bridal is often chosen as a personal choice and taste to express a love of a certain era. Couples decide to theme their wedding and in the past we have looked after Rock’n Roll brides, Art Nouveau brides and recently a beautiful 80ties dress by the French designer Lanvin.

To restyle, uplift or alter a family heirloom is a different matter. Brides do it for various reasons. They connect with their mum’s style and taste of fashion. They would like to honour a family tradition and sometimes you can save money if the dress fits you. Sometimes restyling might be quite an extensive process but from our experience the result can be incredibly beautiful.

Regular restyling of vintage bridal dresses: taking off sleeves/reshape sleeves – reshaping necklines/backlines – shortening/lengthening dress – taking in waists – adding side panels – narrowing shoulders – lengthening/shortening straps – lifting shoulders – dress repairs – skirt restyling – neckline restyling – adjusting the overall dress volume 

Family Heirloom Pieces: We restyle, restore and alter as little or as much as you require. Regular restyling: reshaping neckline -restyling bodice into a laced corseted dress, adding extra width – refreshing detail – repairing and supporting of existing features
