Appointments: We work by appointment, within which you will be looked after by one of our experienced fitting consultants. They will advise you on alterations needed to fit your bridal wear well. A price estimate will be established at the end of the fitting for you to decide whether or not you are comfortable going forward with the alteration. We can offer a variety of solutions to alter your garment; some might save costs. Please ask.
*Please bring your shoes to your appointment or some with a similar heel height as well as your undergarments to ensure we can fit your bridal garments perfectly.
Bridal Fittings are available in our spacious studio in Battersea.
Charges: Due to many styles and finishes, it is difficult to provide an estimate for you on the phone. We need to see your bridal wear, the inside construction and also you wearing it. Charges for similar alterations may vary, in particular for complex, constructed dresses and heavily detailed designer wear. Our bridal charges are based on time at a rate of £90 per hour. For bridal alterations closer to your wedding date than 6 weeks, express charges will apply.
Discounts: We offer a 25% discount on the alterations for all members of the bridal party including bridesmaids, mother-of-the-brides and grooms, the groom and the father-of-the-bride or groom.

A family-run shop in Barcelona, ‘El Suizo’, selling lace, embroidery, and high-quality silks were the beginnings of one of the world’s leading bridal houses, Pronovias. Alberto Palatchi took over his father’s business in 1964 and created the first prêt-à-porter bridal fashion, a revolution that made wedding dresses accessible to all women, a Spanish success story.
Spectacular designs and opulent aesthetics define Pronovias bridal wear; elaborate dress styles, often corsetted with many lace layers, define Pronovias signature styles. In 2017, Palatchi sold 90% of his company.
Turning 60 years old in 2024, Pronovias introduced a new strategic direction – adding designs for the modern bride who seeks simplicity but doesn’t want to sacrifice personality. Staying current can be one of the biggest challenge for bridal houses.
Pronovias Alterations
Depending on how your Pronovias dress fits you, Pronovias alterations and costs can vary significantly. The dresses are beautifully made and often have complex finishes, and the alterations can be more expensive due to hand finishes that take time and skills.
Shortening the length can mean shortening multiple dress layers; some may have a crinoline finish that must be unpicked and re-applied by hand. Taking in a Pronovias dress often includes working on a corsetted dress that can have lace layers covering the seams. These also need to be unpicked and re-applied by hand, a job for professionals.

Pronovias Sample dresses
Buying a beautiful sample dress for only a fraction of the original price is always tempting. Please be aware that sample dresses might need more alterations. They often need dry cleaning and some repair of pulls.
As long as you keep a sufficient budget in mind, sample dresses can be a great opportunity to get hold of a dress, you would not be able to afford otherwise.
